NEW YEAR – NEW HOBBY-NEW YOU!

Happy New Year everyone! If you enjoy singing – in tune preferably! and would like to meet like minded folk why not join us in Kirriemuir & Glens Old Parish Church on Tuesday nights, starting 24th January 2023. 7. 30 – 9.30 pm.

We have great tutors in Amy Lord, Irene Watts and our own Ali Roberts, who gently take us through our lyrics, tunes and lovely harmonies.

We stop for a cuppy and a blether, friendship is just as important as singing! If you would like to give us a try, the first class is free!

We’d love to see some new faces.

Review

At last we were able to come together as a singing group after all the problems of lockdown and Covid.

We were delighted to welcome a new tutor Irene Watts to our group. She has brought us some lovely songs, and some nice little rounds with amazing harmonies.

We’ve welcomed back some old friends, and had to say goodbye to others, while welcoming some new members to the group.

Amy has brought us a lovely mixture of songs, which we always enjoy singing.

We have both our CD’s on Soundcloud now, which are always worth a listen!

We’re all looking forward to 2023 with it’s new challenges, and hopefully less Covid.

You will find a warm welcome awaiting you should you wish to come along, the first class is free! Please get in touch if you require any more information.

See you all January 24th 2023

Good to be back

It’s been a tough year or so, but we’re back in the groove. After a few weeks of having a sing-a-round going over our old favourites, we’ve now started on some new material.

Travel these Ways, by Karine Polwart and a lovely harmony chorus written by Ali is becoming a favourite already. Beautiful, but proving to be a bit of a challenge is There is So much Magnifence, by Ali Burns – we will master it!! To round off I don’t Want to Know about Evil is our next challenge!.

Oh yes, it’s good to be back among friends, doing what we love best. Why not join us?

2020

As a new decade begins, are you looking for something different to start your new year? Why not come and join us for fun, friendship and song, in Kirriemuir & Glens Church on a Tuesday evening 7.30 – 9.30.  Your first class is free, and we start back on January 21st, where a warm welcome awaits you!

PARTY TIME

The excitement is starting to build ready for tonight’s party. There’s going to be lots of fun and games for all the little fairies and elves!  We’re also thinking about the less fortunate and will be bringing a parcel for Forfar food bank.  Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year!

Autumnal shades

The nights are drawing in, there’s a change in the weather, the trees are slowly changing colour,  but there’s nothing like a good sing-song with friends to chase these blues away.  We’ve been working on some traditional songs with great harmonies with Amy.  It’s amazing how quickly these come together.

Cake and song

Another great night of singing, and fine tuning in preparation of our upcoming concert. Lots of great harmonies, and lilting lyrics!  Nothing quite like singing Scottish traditional songs with a modern twist.   Great sponge cake at the break to sustain our energy!

Saturday Singing

A great day of singing with the lovely Debra Salem. Lovely to see some familiar faces and a chance to meet new singers.  We sang everything from chants, to gospel, to 70’s mix.  Our heads were spinning, brains like mince, but the smiles on the faces told the story. Hope to see you all again next year… or sooner if you wish to join us!
