At last we were able to come together as a singing group after all the problems of lockdown and Covid.
We were delighted to welcome a new tutor Irene Watts to our group. She has brought us some lovely songs, and some nice little rounds with amazing harmonies.
We’ve welcomed back some old friends, and had to say goodbye to others, while welcoming some new members to the group.
Amy has brought us a lovely mixture of songs, which we always enjoy singing.
We have both our CD’s on Soundcloud now, which are always worth a listen!
We’re all looking forward to 2023 with it’s new challenges, and hopefully less Covid.
You will find a warm welcome awaiting you should you wish to come along, the first class is free! Please get in touch if you require any more information.
See you all January 24th 2023
Good to be back
It’s been a tough year or so, but we’re back in the groove. After a few weeks of having a sing-a-round going over our old favourites, we’ve now started on some new material.
Travel these Ways, by Karine Polwart and a lovely harmony chorus written by Ali is becoming a favourite already. Beautiful, but proving to be a bit of a challenge is There is So much Magnifence, by Ali Burns – we will master it!! To round off I don’t Want to Know about Evil is our next challenge!.
Oh yes, it’s good to be back among friends, doing what we love best. Why not join us?
After two great weeks of singing, we’re all ready and prepared for our concert in St. Andrew’s Church on Wednesday 27th February. We’ll be entertaining the good folk of Kirrie. along with Kirrie The Whit. Should be a good night.
Having had to cancel our session last week due to illness, it was great to be back singing again. We sang through 9 songs in preparation for our next event in Kirriemuir on the 27 February. It was so nice to see everyone again and we were all in great voice.
What a great way to end our term! Our Christmas party got off to a great start complete with lots of snazzy headwear. There were lots of games, quizzes, (we know who eats the sweets, or watches the adverts now) and laughter. Followed by the usual magnificent Angus Folk buffet.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again on January 22nd. Merry Christmas, and a very Happy New Year to all our followers.
A date for your diary. Tuesday 25 June 2019 is when we have planned to have our Summer concert. It will contain the usual mix of new and favourite songs of ours arranged by Amy Lord and under the leadership of Ali Roberts. A night not to be missed!
It was certainly blowing last night, and helped blow the cobwebs out of us! A great night of singing with Ali, a wee bit troubleshooting as well. Nothing like being prepared as we started singing through songs likely to feature in our June Concert.
Another cracking night of singing with the wonderful Amy Lord. Working on the Coventry Carol, and a good sing through of all the songs she has taught the past two terms. Some beautiful sounds, and stunning harmonies, as well as the usual fun, friendship and laughter.
Thank you to everyone who came along and made our quiz night such a success. Of course this wound’t have been possible without our quizmaster Alex. Rae. We were all winners on the night, as we had a time to chat, catch up with friends, have a laugh, and generally have a good time. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the evening.
We are slowly starting to get to grips with the challenging arrangements that Amy has given us. Challenging but lovely, and we can’t wait to start performing Lovely Molly, Yella’s on the Broom, Freedom come all ye, Farewell tae Sicily, Dainty Davie, & Thousands or More! Gosh we have been busy!
